What does the Acupuncture Therapist actually do?

The Treatment of Acupuncture to cure diseases began in China about 2,500 years ago. This method of Treatment entered the consciousness of western culture  only in the 20th century, and became a real alternative on the one hand and an important addition to the Treatment offered by conventional medicine. Acupuncture, is actually the insertion of ultra-thin needles, disposable and sterile to different points in the body.

There are hundreds of Acupuncture points in the human body, each point having a different effect and different meaning in treating the various symptoms. In most cases, the therapist will seek to create a correct combination of several Acupuncture points in order to achieve the best results.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture stimulates and helps the body to resume its natural healing activity. In recent years, extensive research has been conducted on the effectiveness of Acupuncture in relieving pain and in healing various diseases. In general, such studies suggest that needle insertion affects our nervous system and releases endorphins that help to relieve pain, improve mood, reduce tension and anxiety. Some studies have found that Acupuncture also causes the release of serotonin, also known as the “good neurotransmitter” and cortisol that treats inflammation. This is probably the reason for the known success of Acupuncture in the Treatment of depression, arthritis and asthma.

Acupuncture – for the Treatment of Pain.

Acupuncture Is recognized by modern medicine as an effective means of treating pain. According to scientific studies conducted around the world, Acupuncture stimulates nerve fibers in our bodies, which send a message through the spinal cord to the brain and the hypothalamus inside it, which in turn release endorphins, which help to relieve pain.

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective in 60% – 85% in the Treatment of Chronic Pain, compared to the efficacy of only 70% of Morphine Therapy in the same pain. As you know, the use of morphine includes the possibility of various side effects, such as fatigue, dizziness, nausea, etc., while Acupuncture is considered the safest C, whose side effects are rare.

Acupuncture helps the Body’s Hormonal System work more efficiently, and therefore plays an important role in repairing damaged body cells and strengthening the immune system.

Acupuncture strengthens the Immune System by increasing the proliferation of T- cells known as T- Lymphocytes. This contributes to the effectiveness of Acupuncture in the Treatment of Allergies and Syndromes such as Chronic Fatigue.

Acupuncture has also been shown to be an effective Treatment for Depression, because it can help in the Natural Release of Endorphins, which contribute not only to a general sense of calm in the body but also to improving mood.
